Thanks very much to Ridha for this Rhino treat!
Sumatran Rhinos are critically endangered and in Borneo less than 20
remain in the wild. The good news is that the University of Cincinnati
have successfully bred the Sumatran Rhino in captivity. The bad news,
our female rhino recently caught in the wild is unable to breed. Studies have
shown that female rhinos when left alone in the wild for too long develop cysts
in their ovaries due to the over production of estrogen hormones. I hope our
State government will approve of Tam (our young male) to be sent abroad.
