Bakewell, Derbyshire

The Old Original Pudding Shop
The ancient market town of Bakewell is home of the
famous Bakewell Pudding which has been made here
since at least the 1800s. Legend has it that it originates
from the Rutland Arms Hotel. A strawberry tar was
ordered by a guest, but instead f stirring the egg mixture
into the pastry, the inexperienced cook poured it over the
strawberry jam thus creating a pudding.
