Gran Canaria

Coming from an island state and growing up with a view of five islands just off the city's waterfront, islands and beaches generally do not excite me, give me a ruin or a castle to explore. With that said, I am however rather pleased to have a different Spanish island to add to my collection!

Mt Teide, Tenerife

 

Mt Teide is an active volcano. The last eruption was in 1909. It has been designated as a Decade volcano ( destructive eruptions and proximity to populated areas). At 3718m, it is the third highest volcano and thus making Tenerife the tenth highest island with its elevation.

 

I picked this pretty card for a swap for the snowy white view, only to find out it's a volcano,so yay another card for the volcano collection :) Thank you Jose for this awesome card!
