The State Hermitage is a museum of art and culture in Saint Petersburg, Russia. One of the largest and oldest museums in the world, it was founded in 1764 by Catherine the Great and has been open to the public since 1852. Its collections, of which only a small part is on permanent display, comprise over three million items (the numismatic collection accounts for ca one third of them) including the largest collection of paintings in the world. The collections occupy a large complex of six historic buildings along Palace Embankment, including the Winter Palace, a former residence of Russian emperors. Apart from them, the Menshikov Palace, Museum of Porcelain, Storage Facility at Staraya Derevnya and the eastern wing of the General Staff Building are also part of the museum. The museum has several exhibition centers abroad. The Hermitage is a federal state property. Since 1990, the director of the museum has been Mikhail Piotrovsky.

Castle Drogo

The Drawing Room, panelled in deal and stiple painted. 

Castle Drogo is a country house near Drewsteignton, Devon, England. It was built from 1911 and was finished in 1930 for Julius Drewe (businessman and founder of the Home and Colonial Stores) to designs by architect Edwin Lutyens, and is a Grade I listed building. It is currently undergoing a 5 year conservation project (2013-2017) to finally make it watertight. Castle Drogo was the last castle to be built in England, and probably the last private house in the country to be built entirely of granite.

Knabe art Grand Piano

This 1886 Knabe Art Grand Piano was designed for General

William Mahone's daughter on her 18th birthday. This one-

of-a-kind piano is housed at Centre Hill Mansion in Petersburg,

Virginia and features hollywood inlaid on rosewood 

around its nine-foot case.

Nathaniel Russell is recognized as one of America's most

important neoclassical dwellings. The graceful interiors with

elaborate plasterwork ornamentation, geometrically shaped 

rooms and a maginificent free-flying staircase are among the 

most exuberant ever created in early America.
