Foster Tusler on Hog

This large g was not deterred from eating even while straddled
by frontier toddler Foster Tusler. The Henry T. Tusler family and
this photographer lived on adjoining ranches in eastern Montana,
and were former partners in a polo pony enterprise.
Photographed in 1902 by Evelyn J. Cameron

I always love it when I get an unexpected card for a theme I collect
of "people riding animals" or "black and white" images from the past.
Thanks to Tilly (postcrossing.com) for this vintage card

Whitehorse, Yukon

Yukon Quest is a 1,000 mile international sled dog race
run in February between Whitehorse, Yukon and Fairbanks, Alaska.
Thank you to Deborah, who shared an amazing quote,
"Life begins where your comfort zone ends"
If I'm ever going to see more of the world, I'm going to have to
forego the comfortable luxuries and go even hardcore as a backpacker by
camping and avoiding tourist traps >.<

Unusual postcard

I was curious about the unusual card Rob offered in the forum, after all people can describe one thing very differently. I like his sense of unusual because this is pretty funny! Pretty apt to coincide with the year of the horse. Merci beaucoup Rob!

Mongolia

The area of what is now Mongolia has been ruled by various nomadic empires, including the Xiongnu, the Xianbei, the Rouran, the Goturks, and others. In 1206, Genghis Khan founded the Mongol Empire, and his grandson Kublai Khan conquered China to establish the Yuan Dynasty. After the collapse of the Yuan, the Mongols retreated to Mongolia and resumed their earlier pattern of factional conflict and occasional raids on the Chinese borderlands.

Thank you so much Nathan for this amazing card from Mongolia!
