Emilia Yusof's 2015 Limited Edition postcards.

 Yay so very happy to come home and find an envelope of very special

postcards waiting for me. Someone in the Malaysian Postcrosser facebook

group had shared the artwork of Emilia Yusof, who was exhibiting at the

Children's Literary Festival in Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur. As I couldn't

go myself, I asked for her help in getting me these cards. Selling for Rm2.50 each

I knew I would regret it if I didn't have the entire collection since they are

Limited Edition and they are from a Malaysian illustrator. It's not easy to find

local illustrations so I thought why not?! I am unlikely to find such nice cards

again and besides the cards absolutely appeal to the whimsical child in me :) Enjoy!

Colouring postcard

This card arrives from a swap-bot exchange which was meant to be sent in 2013 

and the sender made up for it this year with this funky colouring postcard from the

art of Johanna Basford's Colouring Postcard book. I'd so love to try and get the book 

myself and colour in the cards and send it to friends. I recently read on my fb feed that

Adult Colouring books are one of the top sellers in Amazon. There really is an great 

selection available where you can be creative with colours especially if you aren't good

in drawing.

I've seen this rather cute illustrations for a while but never knew the name of

the artist or what this furries are, hedgehogs? A Belarusian version of the Totoro?!

Seems like they enjoy the happy things in life, a cup of hot tea and pretzels to munch

Castle Coch,South Wales

Castell Coch is a 19th-century Gothic Revival castle built above the village of Tongwynlais in South Wales. The first castle on the site was built by the Normans after 1081, to protect the nearby, newly-conquered, town of Cardiff and control the route along the Taff Gorge. Abandoned shortly afterwards, the castle's earth motte was reused by Gilbert de Clare as the basis for a new stone fortification, which he built between 1267 and 1277 to control his freshly annexed Welsh lands. This castle was probably destroyed in the native Welsh rebellion of 1314. In 1760, the castle ruins were acquired by the Marquesses of Bute as part of a marriage settlement that brought the family vast estates in South Wales.

Old flag of Belarus
