Cuba

Santiago de Cuba is the second largest city of Cuba and capital city of Santiago de Cuba Province in the south-eastern area of the island, some 870 km  south-east of the Cuban capital of Havana.
Historically Santiago de Cuba has long been the second most important city on the island after Havana, and still remains the second largest. It is on a bay connected to the Caribbean Sea and is an important sea port. In 2004 the city of Santiago de Cuba had a population of about 509,143 people.

Bookstairs

I absolutely love this fantasy postcard of a flight of stairs made from books 

to lead you to onto a fantastic journey into fantasy! An amazing postcard from 

Kathi from Germany. Western Europe really has great cards to offer, pity we

don't have such in my country.

I really love it when I get a postcard of a place that I have visited. Piazza di Spagna or Spanish Steps,was one of the last places we got to see before we took our flight home the next day.

Mexico stairs

Once again Wikipedia has taught me something new, from this picture alone I thought it was a ladder art installation in a museum but it turns out to be a Monument to the Revolution , with a ladder that goes to the roof, so that explains the rubbery legs hehe thank you Marte!

Nathaniel Russell is recognized as one of America's most

important neoclassical dwellings. The graceful interiors with

elaborate plasterwork ornamentation, geometrically shaped 

rooms and a maginificent free-flying staircase are among the 

most exuberant ever created in early America.
