Petra, Jordan

Petra  is a historical and archaeological city in the southern Jordanian governorate of Ma'an that is famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system. Another name for Petra is the Rose City due to the color of the stone out of which it is carved.
The site remained unknown to the Western world until 1812, when it was introduced by Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt. It was described as "a rose-red city half as old as time" in a Newdigate Prize-winning poem by John William Burgon. UNESCO has described it as "one of the most precious cultural properties of man's cultural heritage.Petra was chosen by the Smithsonian Magazine as one of the "28 Places to See Before You Die".

Thank you Antho for this amazing card from Jordan, one of the most wanted
cards in my wishlist! As a kid, my parents stuck me in front of the tv to keep me
occupied so I grew up watching a lot of fantasy and adventure films like
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. I never grew tired of watching it! It
is also one of the biggest reasons why I travel to see ancient historical places.
Terima Kasih banyak banyak! I have to visit Jordan!

My first postcard from Jordan

 Temple of Artemis - Jerash

The Jerash Temple of Artemis is a Roman temple in Jerash, Jordan. The temple was built on one of the highest points and dominated the whole city. Ruins of  the temple are still one of the most remarkable monuments left of the ancient city of Gerasa (Jerash).

Jordan is definitely one of the places I'd like to visit but for now read this travel blog on what you can do or see there :)

Thank you Fadi for this historical card! :)
