Crayola ad

In 1902, Binney & Smith developed and introduced the Staonal marking crayon. Then Edwin Binney, working with his wife, Alice Stead Binney, developed his own famous product line of wax crayons beginning on 10 June 1903, which it sold under the brand name "Crayola." The Crayola name was coined by Alice Binney, wife of company founder Edwin and a former schoolteacher. It comes from "craie", French for "chalk," and "ola" for "oleaginous", or "oily." The suffix "-ola" was also popular in commercial use at the time, lending itself to products such as granola (1886), pianola (1901), Victrola (1905), Shinola (1907) and Mazola (1911).

The Belle Époque or La Belle Époque(French for "Beautiful Era") was a period in French and Belgian history that is conventionally dated as starting in 1871 and ending when World War I began in 1914. Occurring during the era of the Third French Republic (beginning 1870), it was a period characterized by optimism, peace at home and in Europe, new technology and scientific discoveries. The peace and prosperity in Paris allowed the arts to flourish, and many masterpieces of literature, music, theater, and visual art gained recognition. The Belle Époque was named, in retrospect, when it began to be considered a "golden age" in contrast to the horrors of World War I.

Longhorn Restaurant, Tombstone, Arizona

The Longhorn is the oldest continually operated restaurant

in Tombstone. A historical building, the Longhorn is

located in what used to be the Bucket of Blood Saloon,

The Holiday Water Company and the Owl Café and Hotel

Wyoming - not for wimps!

Bison

Bison refers to the North American species as opposed to Bovids in other parts of the world

which are called buffalo. Bisons are realted to domestic cattle, sheep, and goats. Bison stand

5 1/2 feet high at the shoulders. Adult males (bulls) weigh 1200 - 2000 pounds while females (cows) weight 700-900 pounds. They will sweep their head in a side to side motion to clear snow and expose vegetation.

Ah that explains the snow powder on his face haha, it looks as though someone threw a snowball at him and I wouldn't like to be facing him then, run run run or the bison gets you :D

Aburqueque balloons

 

Alburqueque is known as the hot air ballooning capital of the world. Alburqueque's annual ballooning event is the most photographed sporting event in the United States.

Gettysburg National Military Park

Soldier's National Cemetery

To properly bury the Union soldiers who died at Gettysburg, a "Soldier's Cemetery" was established on the battleground near the center of the Union line. Pennsylvania Governor Andrew Curtin supported the proposal with state funds to purchase the ground on Cemetery Hill and paid for the reinterment of the Union dead from inadequate gravesites that covered the battlefield. Today, the Soldier's National Cemetery is the final resting place for American Veterans from all of this country's major wars and conflicts, however it is closed to new burials.

At nighttime,as well as durin the day,wildlife of all kinds abounds in the Pennsylvania countryside.

I do enjoy getting these nightcards, LA's has a Lot Tourist while PA has a Bar Hunter haha, and yep you can almost see me in the reflection of the card, thank you Irma!!

Delaware Water Gap
